Slayer 12th Fret Inlay and Kahler Bridge

When I started collecting guitars a long, long time ago, my allegiance to Metallica led me to ESP guitars.  It was only a matter of time before I got my first Jeff Hanneman ESP Custom Guitar Slayer 12th fret logo guitar back in 2005.  Awesome metal guitar.  One of the most intense, hard metal guitars I have ever held and played.  I liked it better than any Hammett KH Series I had at the time.  I sold that Hanneman about 5 years ago and I have only seen a limited few hit the market since that time.  I was privleged enough to own 2 of the notorious 12 Custom Shop SS & Key Guitars.  It took me a LONG time to find those two.  So years pass by and I find ANOTHER original Hanneman Slayer guitar.  I bought it without hesitation.  How I missed that SINISTER Slayer sound.  That baseball bat neck.  HERE IT IS!!!  I OFFER IT TO ANOTHER LUCKY PERSON TO CHERISH AS I HAVE…

This auction is for my mid 2000’s ESP Custom Guitars Jeff Hanneman Signature Series guitar.  I have owned a 2004 and a 2007 ESP Hanneman with SLAYER Inlay and my memory escapes me what years ESP made the original Hanneman like this one.  I have owned Urban Camo Hannemans, SS and KEY Hannemans and 2 other of these originals.  I can tell you each one is a serious, serious Metal guitar. 

Read any history on the ESP Hanneman and you will see that it was modeled after his Jackson Soloist which he used on most of the early Slayer records.  Most people were pretty pissed that the very first Hanneman ESP’s were offered with Floyd Rose.  FLOYD ROSE?? On a Hanneman??  And hell is freezing over!!!  ESP listened to the fans and started putting Kahler bridges on shorty after the original release.

The string section of Slayer.  These guys defined Thrash Metal and continue to do so right up to today.  Are you one of the lucky ones that caught THE BIG 4 World Tour?  I have seen them live and they are one of the most intense bands on earth.  You can not dominate this genre without being tight and consistent night after night.

So let’s talk about this guitar. Pretty frickin’ clean condition considering this guitar is half a decade old, or more.  There is one clear coat chip on the front body.  You can see it photographed above with the tip of a pen.  I am happy to report there is NO BUCKLE RASH ON THE REAR BODY.  There is a tiny, tiny chip that was touched up on the tip top of the razor headstock.  It is filled in black and if I did not mention it, most people would miss it.  There are two very light blemishes on the lower rear body.  I believe they can polish out by a professional as they do not appear to be in the paint.  They would not photograph, and since ESP Black paint from this generation is VERY tempermental, I am fine not trying to buff/polish them out. They are on the back anyway.  Does not bother me in the least.

The fret board, frets, binding and even the hard to keep clean ESP Black paint is in EXCEPTIONAL Condition.  Since the headstock blemish forces a rating in the 8’s, I have to give this ESP an 8.9.  Personally, given its age and type of music it is designed for, I think it is a 9.2 condition.  If you look at the photos of the headstock, look toward the very top, razor point.  Do you see anything?  Exactly my point.  VERY, VERY MINOR ! !

I am confident the winner of this ESP Jeff Hanneman will be just as satisfied as I was when I found it.
